One Winding Road to Where We are Today...
It started with a dream…and turned into a reality. What began as ideas and drawings has developed into permanent buildings and a beautiful racetrack—called the North Dakota Horse Park. 2003—The dawn of a new day. The ND Horse Park answered the call to post for the first time. 41,725 people attended the races that year. Words to describe their experience were successful, exciting, amazing and marvelous. 2004— Moving forward after an explosive first year, the ND Horse Park extended its racing dates two weeks longer than the previous year. 2005—The year of fair style vending, covered gazebos and grand stands. Marketing strategies turned from only the horsemen to public, kids, businesses, looking towards a “Come one, come all!” attitude. 2006—Budweiser Clydesdales made their debut at the ND Horse Park. Did you know one Clydesdale eats 20-25 quarts of feed, 40-50 lbs of hay and 30 gal of water a day? Bet you’re glad your race horses don’t eat like that! 2007—Eight weeks of racing! Of course we had to have a birthday bash for the 5 year old ND Horse Park as well. 2008—Let’s get it started! Come watch the races August 1-September 7. |
